About Smiles Change Lives

Smiles Change Lives(SCL) is a nonprofit organization that matches families that cannot afford the full cost of braces with orthodontists across the country willing to provide orthodontic treatment.
Eligibility:
Children 10-18 years of age who:
- Have a family income less than 200% of the Federal Poverty Level
- Have a moderate to severe need for braces
- Have good dental hygiene (as certified by the applicant’s general dentist)
- Have no unfilled cavities
- Are not wearing braces currently
Application:
Call or visit website to request an application, or email with questions about the application process.
Calls must be made only during phone hours. Voicemail messages left outside of the designated phone hours cannot be returned.

Once application has been received, the applicant will be added to the screening list to await a program opening.
Fees:
$30 application fee.
If approved, the family must be willing to pay $600 toward program participation.
